Solution to “Camera Failed” and “Retry” in BlackBerry Android Whatsapp

In 2016, WhatsApp a Facebook owned company announced to discontinue to support BlackBerry OS 10 powered devices which include Blackberry Z10, Z30, Z3, Q5 and Q10 from 31st December, 2016 which they extended until 30th June 2017.

Now, the most of Blackberry users are concerned about whether they will be still able to install and use Whatsapp even after 30th June 2017 — Well, the answer is Yes! They will be able to use Whatsapp on their Blackberry devices after 30th June by installing the Whatsapp made for Android devices that I’ve already covered in How to Install Android WhatsApp on Blackberry Z10, Z3 and Z30.

Most of users who have already managed to install Whatsapp on their Blackberry devices are facing difficulty in sending and uploading images and videos from gallery as well as from the camera. When they are trying to take photos or record videos they are getting “Camera Failed” error and while sending “Retry” option is popping again and again.

So, what’s solution for “Camera Failed” and “Retry” error? Is their any fix for the same. Well, I have tried multiple ways to resolve this issue, but none of them worked — After a lot of mindstorming I managed to send images and videos that I’ve listed below.

1. Method # 1

You can send Images and videos including the documents such as pdf and docs files using the “Web” based Whatsapp from web.whatsapp.com.

To send images, videos and documents using the Web browser based Whatsapp :

  1. Log on to  web.whatsapp.com
  2. Open the Android app on your BlackBerry device.
  3. Tap on the “CHATS” tab and hit the options (three dots in the right top corner).
  4. Under the options, select “Whatapp Web” and scan the QR code shown at web.whatsapp.com

Once you have successfully logged into the Whatsapp Web you can use your browser to upload images, videos and even documents.

2. Method # 2

This method is for those who have additional Android powered device. To send images, videos and documents using this method you have to download Whatscan for WhatsApp from Google Play store.

Once you have downloaded and installed the Whatscan for WhatsApp on your Android device :

  1. Open the Whatscan for Whatsapp as well as Whatsapp on your BlackBerry device
  2. Tap on the “CHATS” tab and hit the options (three dots in the right top corner)
  3. Scan the QR code using the Whatscan for Whatsapp

You will be able to use the Whatsapp using the Whatscan for Whatsapp, once the QR code successfully get scanned. Hope you’ll find it useful and if I discover any method I’ll update this article.
