How to register for DLT for Free on any platform?

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, best known as TRAI, has issued guidelines to all the telecom providers in India for mandatory registration and use of Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) to reduce forgery, scams, phishing and also to control Unsolicited Commercial Communication (UCC) and Do Not Disturb Service (DND). In fast few years, the TRAI has observed that many telecom companies failed to implement a methodology to fight against SMS scams despite financial companies like PayTM, PhonePe, and other banking sectors suffered from heavy loss. Mandatory DLT registration is a great move by the Government of India to fight against online forgery. Still, the concern remains is that most telecom companies like Airtel, Vodafone Idea Ltd (Vi), Reliance Jio, BSNL, and MTNL are charging Rs. 3000-6000 for the DLT registration, which may not be affordable by individuals, MSME, and small vendors, including freelancer developers.

In this article, we’ve covered how you can register for free on DLT platforms provided by Reliance Jio, Vodafone Idea Ltd, Airtel, MTNL, and BSNL.

As per the guidelines from TRAI and the Government of India, the entity does not have to pay on multiple platforms if their account gets approved on one DLT platform. So the question is, how to get registered for DLT for free when all the companies are charging for DLT registration? Well, not all the companies are charging. You can get yourself, or your company enrolled in Videocon Telecommunications Ltd DLT services offered under the brand name Smart Enterprise Solutions which is completely free of charge. Once your application gets approved, you can go ahead and use the entity ID issued by the Smart Enterprise Solutions DLT platform to register for DLT on Vodafone Idea Ltd (VI), Airtel, Reliance, MTNL, and BSNL.
