Claims and objections to Goa’s draft electoral rolls are scheduled to be filed from 12 November to 11 December 2026, according to a Government of Goa release dated 5 November. The release, conveying information from the Collector and District Election Officer of Kushavati, sets 12 November for publication of the draft rolls and 4 January 2027 for publication of the final rolls.
The Department of Information & Publicity said the Election Commission of India has undertaken the Special Summary Revision with 1 January 2027 as the qualifying date. The exercise is intended to enrol eligible citizens and keep the electoral rolls accurate, the department said. Its notice also details assistance arrangements for all five Assembly constituencies in Kushavati district.
Draft rolls, applications and final publication
The schedule in the Goa release separates the period for receiving applications from the deadline for deciding them. Claims and objections can be filed from the day the integrated draft electoral rolls are published, 12 November, until 11 December 2026. The deadline for disposal of those claims and objections is 28 December 2026.
The final electoral rolls are scheduled for publication on 4 January 2027. These are announced milestones: the 5 November release does not report that draft publication or the application process has already taken place.
In practical terms, the exercise described in the notice covers both people seeking inclusion and existing electors whose entries need attention. The district election officer asked citizens to check their electoral details and submit the appropriate forms for correction, updating or deletion where necessary, within the prescribed period.
The distinction between the application deadline and the disposal deadline matters. Under the published schedule, 11 December is the last date for filing claims and objections; 28 December is the deadline for dealing with them. Final publication follows that disposal stage.
Young citizens and people missing from the rolls
The Collector and District Election Officer particularly appealed to young citizens who have attained, or will attain, the age of 18 years as on 1 January 2027 to seek enrolment. The appeal also covers eligible citizens whose names are not yet included in the electoral rolls.
The qualifying date is the reference date used for the revision. In the Goa notice, it anchors the appeal to young people reaching voting age. It is distinct from the dates for submitting applications and publishing the rolls.
The district officer said enrolment applications should be made through the prescribed forms. The release does not identify individual form numbers or specify the documents required for each type of application. It instead points to help desks established to provide information and assistance during the revision.
Existing electors are also part of the exercise. The officer’s appeal asks them to verify their recorded particulars rather than treating the revision solely as an enrolment drive for first-time voters.
Four campaign days in Kushavati
The Goa release schedules special campaign days on 28 and 29 November and 5 and 6 December 2026. All four dates fall within the announced claims-and-objections period.
The district election officer encouraged citizens to visit designated locations on those days for enrolment and other electoral services. Separately, the department said round-the-clock help desks have been established for Kushavati’s five Assembly constituencies: Quepem, Curchorem, Sanvordem, Sanguem and Canacona.
These local arrangements have a specific geographical scope. Although the revision includes Goa, the help-desk information in this release concerns Kushavati district, not every constituency in the state.
Kushavati’s district website says the Government of Goa established the district through a notification dated 31 December 2025, carving it out of the southern and eastern portions of the former South Goa district. It comprises the four administrative talukas of Dharbandora, Sanguem, Quepem and Canacona. That administrative background identifies the area served by the election office issuing the appeal.
Goa within the wider revision
The Election Commission ordered the Special Summary Revision in 14 states and three Union Territories, including Goa, according to News On AIR. The broadcaster’s report also described district-level help desks intended to assist electors, particularly migrants and vulnerable and marginalised people.
News On AIR reported that the commission would allow young citizens turning 18 on 1 April, 1 July or 1 October 2027 to apply in advance for enrolment. That is an additional provision reported in the wider announcement; the Kushavati release focuses its enrolment appeal on citizens aged 18 as on 1 January 2027.
The forthcoming summary revision is distinct from the earlier Special Intensive Revision described in a separate Goa Department of Information & Publicity notice. That notice said the draft roll for the intensive revision, using 1 January 2026 as its qualifying date, had been published on 16 December 2025. Those earlier dates do not govern the application window announced in the 5 November 2026 release.
For the forthcoming campaign days, the Kushavati notice refers to designated service locations but does not list their addresses or session timings. It says the district’s help desks are available around the clock to provide information and assistance during the revision.
