In India there are different areas in which B.Sc. and M.Sc. are offered, the areas vary from the technical and the medical to the biological, Sociology and the botany etc. Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) is a three-year undergraduate programme where Masters of Science (M.Sc.) is a two-year post graduation degree.

Teaching Career — In Schools & Colleges
After B.Sc. and M.Sc. both you can opt for the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) which trains you in the field of teaching. B. Ed is a 2-year teaching training course, and if you are good at teaching and have the ability and skill to teach the pupils at school, you can opt for this course.
If you are doing B.Sc. and have decided to do B.Ed after qualifying B.Sc and also confused or wishing to do M.Sc, I will suggest that you should directly go for the B.Ed and opt M.Sc from School of Open Learning or IGNOU.
You can also go a step ahead and can also teach in the colleges and institutes after qualifying The National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the University Grants Commission (UGC), and of course, you can go with the doctorate degree which is PhD which you can opt from any recognised University.
Medical and Pharmaceutical
After B.Sc. as well as M.Sc., you also opt for the medical and the Pharma sector. This field is favourable to those students who have studied Biology, Chemistry and Maths in 10+2, undergraduate and postgraduate level. No matter what you have studied at 10+2 or in your undergraduate course, you can always opt the law with LLB, which is a 3-year bachelor degree in Law.

A career in Hospitals and Clinics
There is always a big demand for staffs in hospitals where the numbers of Hospitals in India are increasing day-by-day. If you have studied medical-science in 10+2 or even in your undergraduate course, you can apply in the hospital, but we will suggest you get professional training or diploma in nursing or hospitality from any recognised institute which will not take more than six months to 12 months.
You can also apply in the clinics where you can get the post of a nurse or a lab assistant etc.
Skilled India Initiative
You can also join the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) which is a skill India programme by the Government of India in which short-term training with the objective of skill certification is being offered in various fields. The skilled India scheme also helps you in the placement.

Indian Railways
If you have skill and knowledge, the India Railways have umpteen numbers of opportunities. This is an organisation in which a person with a 10th degree to PhD can not only hold a good post but also can have a good salary.
Students having an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in any discipline programmes can apply through the normal Indian Railways recruitment process.
If you want to go a step ahead, you can have professional industrial training from the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) which will help you in getting a good post in Indian Railways.
Banking & Management Sector
Students from B.Sc. and M.Sc. background can go with Banking as well as the management sector, which may include the post of a field officer to the admin officer in many firms.
For banking, you can opt for the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) examination, which requires a bachelor degree with 60% marks for the Bank PO and just a passing degree for Bank clerk. This also requires Computer skill, and you must have studied in 10+2 or in your undergraduate course. If in case you have not studied computer in 10+2 or in your undergraduate course then you can have a diploma or certification course in computer from any recognised institute. There are certain age restrictions which says your age must be between 20 to 28 years.
