Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat on 30-31 October 2026 and inaugurate, dedicate or lay foundation stones for projects worth over Rs 14,000 crore at a programme in Banaskantha, the Prime Minister’s Office said. The visit will also include the release of around Rs 19,000 crore under the 24th instalment of PM-KISAN and projects worth over Rs 400 crore in Ekta Nagar.

The Banaskantha programme brings together dairy and agricultural infrastructure, transport projects and Anganwadi centres, according to the Prime Minister’s Office. The projects are at different stages: completed facilities will be inaugurated or dedicated to the nation, while new metro extensions, road widening and Bio-CNG plants are scheduled for foundation-stone ceremonies.

The Prime Minister’s Office has scheduled Modi’s visit to the Bharat Bovine Breeding and Research Centre and its assisted-reproduction laboratory in Banaskantha for around 9:30 am on 30 October. The development-project programme is due to follow at around 10:30 am, when he will also address a gathering and flag off two train services.

Banas Dairy projects cover breeding, processing and storage

The Bharat Bovine Breeding and Research Centre at Bhildi occupies 127 acres and is intended to strengthen cattle breeding through genetic improvement and advanced reproductive technologies, the Prime Minister’s Office said. It described the centre as the country’s first facility of its kind dedicated to the Kankrej cattle breed.

The centre includes an Embryo Transfer Technology-In Vitro Fertilisation laboratory, which uses assisted-reproduction techniques for breeding. The Prime Minister’s Office said the facility would accelerate breed improvement by 10-20 times; that figure is the government’s projected benefit, rather than a reported operating result.

ANI, citing a Gujarat Chief Minister’s Office release, reported that three Banas Dairy projects scheduled for inauguration have a combined cost of Rs 407.56 crore. These comprise the breeding centre at Rs 324.77 crore, a French fries processing project at Sanadar costing Rs 51.65 crore and an automated storage facility at Palanpur costing Rs 31.14 crore.

According to the Gujarat Chief Minister’s Office release reported by ANI, work to increase the Sanadar plant’s French fries production capacity from 2 tonnes to 5 tonnes per hour began in April 2026. The Prime Minister’s Office described the scheduled inauguration as an expansion of the potato processing plant.

The Palanpur Automated Storage and Retrieval System is designed to store and dispatch ultra-high-temperature, or UHT, milk products, ANI reported, citing the state release. Its nine-level steel racks provide capacity for 11,000 pallets, with automated handling and traceable warehouse logistics. Both the Sanadar and Palanpur facilities are scheduled to be inaugurated virtually from Bhildi.

Two further Banas Dairy projects will begin with foundation-stone ceremonies rather than inaugurations. The Prime Minister’s Office said the proposed Bio-CNG plants at Tharad and Radhanpur would process 75 metric tonnes and 100 metric tonnes of cattle dung per day, respectively. Bio-CNG is fuel produced by processing organic material; ANI’s account of the state release said Banas Dairy uses cattle dung to produce vehicle fuel and organic fertiliser.

Farm infrastructure and the PM-KISAN instalment

Modi is scheduled to dedicate 521 completed projects under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, involving a total project cost of around Rs 4,950 crore, the Prime Minister’s Office said.

The facilities include cold storage and cold chains, warehouses, silos, polyhouses, greenhouses and agricultural processing centres, according to the announcement. They cover storage, protected cultivation and processing, rather than a single type of farm asset.

The Prime Minister’s Office also said Modi would mark the start of on-ground activities in 12 approved horticulture clusters. These cover approximately 1.46 lakh hectares and are expected to benefit more than 1.3 lakh farmers. Two clusters in North Gujarat will focus on potatoes.

The scheduled PM-KISAN release is a financial-assistance payment to farmers across the country, distinct from the project costs listed for the visit. The Prime Minister’s Office put the 24th instalment at around Rs 19,000 crore. Its announcement does not specify the number of recipients covered by this instalment.

Metro extensions, a wider highway and train services

Transport projects announced for the Banaskantha programme extend beyond the district. The Prime Minister’s Office said Modi would lay foundation stones for Ahmedabad Metro Phase-2A, the airport extension, and Phase-2B, the GIFT City extension.

Phase-2A will run for more than 6 km between Koteshwar Road and the airport, covering five stations. Phase-2B will extend for more than 3.3 km between GIFT City and Shahpur, with three stations, according to the Prime Minister’s Office.

The Ahmedabad-Mehsana Road, State Highway-41, is proposed to be widened from four lanes to eight lanes at a cost of around Rs 2,600 crore. The Prime Minister’s Office said the project was intended to make travel between Ahmedabad and North Gujarat faster and safer. The announcement provides no completion date for either the highway widening or the metro extensions.

The two train services scheduled to be flagged off are the Ahmedabad (Sabarmati)-Varanasi Express and the Mehsana-Becharaji-Sabarmati service, the Prime Minister’s Office said.

Social infrastructure is also part of the programme. The Prime Minister’s Office said Modi would lay foundation stones for 4,030 new child-friendly Anganwadi centres and inaugurate 361 completed centres across Gujarat. It put the initiative’s investment at Rs 800 crore and estimated that more than 4 lakh people would benefit.

Ekta Nagar programme includes civic works and cultural events

Modi will travel to Ekta Nagar, Kevadia, after the Banaskantha programme, according to the Prime Minister’s Office. On 31 October, he is scheduled to offer floral tributes at the Statue of Unity and inaugurate, dedicate or lay foundation stones for projects worth over Rs 400 crore.

The facilities scheduled for inauguration include a sewage and water treatment plant, facade lighting, upgrades to Narmada Ghat, an IRCTC hotel and the Rainforest, Unity and Eco Trail, the Prime Minister’s Office said. Proposed works include Gora-Bhandra Road development, integrated solid waste management, eco-tourism development at Khalwani and work at the Cactus and Butterfly Garden.

The Prime Minister’s Office said Modi would also participate in Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations on 31 October, marking the 151st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, with Vande Mataram as the overarching theme.

Bharat Parv 2026 is scheduled to open at Ekta Nagar on the evening of 30 October. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, States and Union Territories will showcase folk performances, regional cuisines, handicrafts and tourist attractions at the festival, which will continue until 15 November 2026.
