NEW DELHI, October 12, 2026 — HCLTech has entered into a Global Premier Partnership with the artificial intelligence company Anthropic to enhance the adoption of agentic AI across enterprises. The partnership aims to support organisations looking to integrate AI into software engineering, IT operations, and business workflows.
As part of the agreement, HCLTech will set up a dedicated Anthropic Business Unit and a global Centre of Excellence (CoE) to create enterprise solutions powered by Anthropic’s AI models, particularly the Claude family. HCLTech will also provide secure sandbox environments and deploy Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) to assist in moving clients from AI experimentation to production deployments, according to Domain B.
HCLTech, which reported over 223,000 employees across 60 countries and a consolidated revenue of $14.8 billion for the 12 months ending June 2026, will leverage its extensive resources to facilitate enterprise AI implementation. The partnership will focus on developing industry-specific solutions using Anthropic’s Claude, Cowork, and Claude Code tools, while also helping clients adopt AI-native engineering practices.
A key aspect of this collaboration involves HCLSoftware acting as an Anthropic Independent Software Vendor (ISV) partner. The software division plans to integrate Claude capabilities into selected products across various sectors, including cybersecurity, automation, business process applications, and application development. Specific products mentioned include HCL BigFix and HCL AppScan, as well as AI analyst capabilities for the Actian platform. However, detailed features, release dates, and timelines for these integrations have not been publicly disclosed.
The integration of Claude and Claude Code into HCLTech’s AI Force agentic software engineering platform is expected to streamline workflows in IT support, code remediation, and digital employee services. The Claude family provides reasoning and analysis capabilities, while Claude Code is designed to assist developers with programming workflows.
The partnership emphasizes safety, cybersecurity, and governance—key considerations for enterprises evaluating AI tools capable of interacting with software, assisting with code changes, and performing multistep tasks. HCLTech aims to implement secure measures such as sandbox environments, policy guardrails, exception handling, and human oversight for significant changes. These strategies are intended to help businesses manage the risks associated with deploying AI in critical environments.
Although the partnership outlines a framework for safe AI deployment, it does not specify that all deployments will adhere to a uniform technical architecture or that every high-risk action will require a common approval process. The specific controls for each implementation will depend on individual customer requirements, as stated in the agreement.
Daniela Amodei, co-founder and president of Anthropic, noted that the partnership would facilitate the integration of AI tools into sensitive enterprise environments, including those in banking, healthcare, telecommunications, and manufacturing. C Vijayakumar, CEO and managing director of HCLTech, remarked that combining a global systems integrator with a software product business positions the company to deploy agentic AI at scale.
This partnership expands HCLTech’s enterprise AI offerings by merging Anthropic’s technology with its existing software products, engineering capabilities, and delivery network. The benefits for enterprise customers include access to AI-assisted workflows within their current technology environments, rather than requiring separate application development for each use case.
